| Further Information: This species is distributed in the Mediterranean and South East Europe (up to Ukraine), but was first recorded in Malta by D.Dandria and S. Mifsud in 2012. Like other species in the genus Aphantaulax, this spider hunts at night and hides during the day under rocks, leaves or plants. The one photographed here was found hiding and nesting in the inflorescence of a wild carrot (Daucus carota). The body of the spider is oval shaped, narrow and pointed at the rear. It can be found all year round. |
